Annual Fund
At Giddens, we believe that children learn best and thrive when they are centered in a loving, caring, and joyful environment in which they are valued as competent and capable whole beings with real contributions to make. We want children to experience a deep sense of belonging and for their learning experiences to be meaningful, purposeful, and grounded in equity and justice.
There are many ways to think about the value that Giddens provides and how your donation to the Annual Fund will directly support our values. At any gift level, your gift signifies your belief in a Giddens education. And combined with other gifts, it creates a wellspring of support that makes an enormous difference in the lives of our students. At Giddens School, our budget supports our values through decisions including:
- $1.1 million in tuition assistance for the 2023-24 school year, supporting 33% of our student body
- Investments in innovative curriculum development like our SPARK program
- The provision of Extended Day to all students at no additional charge, a feature that is unique among schools in Seattle
- The support of two BIPOC Teaching Fellows through our partnership with the University of Washington
- Three-day overnight camp experience for all of our 3rd through 5th graders at no additional cost
Like most independent schools, Giddens relies on giving to support its students, teachers and programs: Our Annual Fund drive matters. Giddens depends on the strength of it’s Annual Fund to close the gap in our budget between tuition and fees and the true cost of delivering an exceptional education year after year. Giddens delivers a top notch educational experience grounded in equity and justice, aiming to inspire children to actively engage in bettering their world.
