If I’m already receiving financial aid, do I automatically receive it for the Extended Day Program as well?
For families receiving financial aid towards tuition from Giddens, your pre-registered rate for Extended Day programs will reflect the same financial aid percentage. Financial aid is not applicable to drop-in days.
Is financial aid available for the Extended Day Program?
City & State funding may be available for your child’s Extended Day fees. For more details check with Julie Sponsler, Director of Finance and Operations: jsponsler@giddensschool.org Phone 206.324.4847 ext. 32.
Why does the program charge flat rates instead of hourly rates?
Our staff have been trained to ensure your child is well cared for and engaged during her/his extended day at Giddens. We are committed to providing consistent, quality staff with a low staff to child ratio. Charging the flat-rate fee allows us to hire staff for set shifts, thus ensuring the quality of our program.
What if I’m late to pick up my child?
There is a15-minute grace period after dismissal time that you can pick your child up in her/his classroom. Students remaining after that time will be checked into the Extended Day program. You will be billed the drop-in rate of $25.
Are there days when Giddens is closed and a camp option is available?
Registration for these camps will be available two weeks prior to the start date.. There is no drop-in option for these days. These days and applicable fees are as follows:
November 17th and 18th: 8:30 am-3:15 pm program is $50 per day, plus regular AM and PM rates.
December 2nd: 8:30 am-3:15 pm program is $50, plus regular AM and PM rates.
February 21nd-24th: Mid Winter Break coverage is $200 for all four days (8:30am-3:15pm), half day for preschool and pre-K (8:30am-12:30pm) is $150, plus regular AM and PM rates.
April 6th: 8:30 am-3:15 pm program is $50, plus regular AM and PM rates.
April: 13th: 8:30 am-3:15 pm program is $50, plus regular AM and PM rates.
April 16th-20th: Our five-day Spring Break program is $250 for the entire week (8:30 am-3:15 pm), half day for preschool and pre-K (8:30 am-12:30 pm) is $200, plus regular AM and PM rates.
May 25th :8:30 am-3:15 pm program is $50, plus regular AM and PM rates.
Are there days when Giddens is closed but a camp option is not available?
Yes, there are times when Giddens school is closed and a camp option is not available. Those dates are as follows for the 2011/2012 school year: October 14th, November 11th, November 24th and 25th, December 19th-January 2nd, January 16th, February 20st, and May 28th.
