Community
An active community
Giddens School is committed to fostering a vibrant and involved community of families, staff and students. Parents and guardians volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per year on a variety of school needs and projects. Parents participate in school events and programs, work parties to care for facilities and gardens, classroom activities and field trips, library maintenance and more. Before the start of the school year, parents/guardians fill out a volunteer questionnaire designed to match the school's needs with the skills, experience and interests of its parent community.
Parent involvement is vital for reaching out to the broader public, through Admissions Open Houses and fundraisers. The Annual Fund and annual school auction engage the entire community in raising critical funds for the school’s robust tuition assistance program.
Involvement at Giddens doesn’t end with 5th grade graduation; alumni and their families come back to school for events and many keep in touch about their lives after Giddens.
