Reading Program

At Giddens, reading begins the moment students walk through our doors! Even before a child is able to decode text, we know that children are able to engage with books and love the world they find between the pages.  At Giddens, our children are given many opportunities to engage with, read, and enjoy books every day. Reading Workshop happens at the same time for each grade level team and the expectations for children in each grade are built from a combination of student interest in topics, our state standards, and the skills and concepts we find critical for all children to master by the time they leave each grade.
