Alison has been an educator for 15 years as a classroom teacher in multiple grades in both independent and public schools across the country and here in Seattle.  Alison loves Giddens because of the wonderful families, the talented teaching staff, and because of the special commitment to social responsibility woven throughout the curriculum.  In her spare time, Alison likes to fill her house with friends, travel with her family, and tell silly stories to her sons, Tally, Aodhan and Malcolm to crack them up!

Extended Day Director, BA Secondary Education, Certified Teacher

Christa has a background in multicultural education.  On her first day of substituting at Giddens, Christa saw two four-year-old children resolving a conflict at the peace table.  She knew then and there that Giddens was where she wanted to teach.  You may not know that Christa recently visited Taiwan and Hong Kong and plans to go on an adventure in France soon!

Director of Admissions, BA Psychology, M.Ed Counseling

Christy brings over 10 years of Admissions experience to Giddens, having worked at St. Thomas School and University Prep. Christy came to Giddens School not only because she feels passionate about the school’s commitment to social justice and equity, but also because she feels like the school is its own community and she is so impressed by the teachers' level of commitment to the school.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and seeing the world, and even spent time as an exchange student in Japan in high school.

Director of Finance and Operations, BA Speech Communications, MA Arts Management

Julie has worked in nonprofit finance and program positions for over 15 years, though this is her first position at a school. Lori worked in the hospitality industry in Wisconsin for two years before moving to Seattle. She is excited to become a member of the Giddens community with which she shares a strong commitment to social justice and academic excellence. Staff

Maintenance/Repairs

Jeff was introduced to our community during his time working as a nanny for two Giddens students.  As he got to know more of the teachers and staff, he started working at the school doing maintenance and became the resident 'handy-man'.  When not at work at Giddens Jeff teaches a Puget Sound underwater basket weaving class.

Maintenance/Custodian

Soren moved to Seattle from Hamburg, Germany in 2005 and became acquainted with Giddens through a friend. As a current parent and staff member, he values the Giddens focus on community and the educational philosophy. In his spare time, Soren enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors, biking, hiking, and swimming.
